Saint-Cuthbert du Lac (Saint-Cuthbert by the Lake) takes place a few years after the Lower Canada Rebellion of 1837-1838 in a region inspired by the Saguenay. After travelling through the forest for countless days, ''Le Survenant'', a mysterious and lonesome wanderer comes upon the town teeming with possessed villagers and other horrible creatures.
